Reimagining our collective futures in Brunnshög

Seven Nights is an emerging cultural platform that cultivates new encounters, unexpected connections, and shared acts of imagination in the open landscape of Brunnshög.

The project takes its name from Seven Nights, Jorge Luis Borges’ collection of lectures from 1977. Borges moved freely between literature, dreams, history, religion, spirituality, and philosophy, building unseen bridges between seemingly distant worlds and ways of knowing.

Inspired by this spirit, Seven Nights reimagines the festival as a con-temporary art of coming together, where artists, researchers, thinkers, local residents, and curious minds co-create moments of eventfulness through which we can reimagine our collective futures.

Seven Nights is more than a festival,it resonates and transforms with Brunnshög’s cosmopolitan landscape

In Brunnshög, a science village within an expanding university campus on the open plains of Scania, a diverse population of 40,000 will live, work, and study by 2055. Scientists in world-leading labs, local farmers, visiting scholars, students, and inhabitants from various cultural background form a dynamic, shifting community.

A future-oriented festival in such a glocal context calls for a new kind of collectivity.

Seven Nights seeks to cultivate, harvest, and celebrate new potentials that emerge through long-term research, collaboration and exchange across art, life, science, and the worlds in between.

TIME out of TIME

Within the socio-cultural landscape of Brunnshög, Time out of Time imagines a garden of forking paths, inviting us to explore our collective senses of time from the geological to the lived, from the migratory to the dwelling, weaving the ancestral with the emergent and imagining new connections between the ephemeral and the planetary.

Starting from an immersive dinner in September 2026, the festival brings together artists, researchers, and thinkers with distinct perspectives on what time means and does within their own fields of practice. Through a series of site-specific evening gatherings — including performance lectures, experimental concerts, workshops, walks, and other public events — Time out of Time cultivates a deeper awareness of coexistence within an ongoing continuum of change.
